Privacy
Mason Privacy Policy

Mason helps you save and organize recipes, build grocery lists, cook recipes, and share a recipe collection and grocery lists with people you invite.
Recipe processing
When you add a recipe from a webpage or photo, Mason sends the webpage content or selected image to Mason’s server so it can be turned into an organized recipe. Features such as ingredient substitutions may also send the relevant recipe and ingredient details needed to answer your request.
Mason uses the Anthropic API for this processing. Mason’s application server processes the request without saving recipe or photo content to a Mason database. Anthropic states that standard API inputs and outputs are deleted from its backend within 30 days, subject to limited legal and policy-enforcement exceptions, and are not used to train its models by default. Data on your device and in iCloud
Your recipes, cookbooks, grocery lists, preferences, and Mason Pro status are stored on your device. When you are signed in to iCloud, Mason uses Apple CloudKit to sync this data between your devices.
If you join a Mason Family sharing group, the recipes, cookbooks, grocery lists, first name you provide, and group membership information are stored in a shared CloudKit database and are visible to the people in that group. Apple processes iCloud data under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Sharing a recipe link
When you choose Share recipe, Mason stores a separate copy of that recipe and its photo using Vercel storage. Anyone with the link can view and forward the copy without an account. Editing or deleting the recipe in your library does not change or remove that shared copy. Your private cookbook memberships, cooking history, and checked ingredients are not included.
To request removal of a shared copy, email masonrecipeapp@gmail.com with its link. Only share content you have permission to share.
Analytics and diagnostics
Mason uses Sentry to receive product-interaction events, crash data, performance data, and other diagnostic data. This information helps us understand which features are used and fix reliability problems. Mason configures Sentry not to send default personally identifying information, and Mason’s custom events exclude recipe titles, recipe content, names, and free-form error messages. This data is not used to track you across apps or websites. Sentry processes it under Sentry’s Privacy Policy.
Purchases
The $7.99 USD one-time Mason Pro purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. Mason receives the purchase status needed to unlock features, but does not receive your payment-card details. Apple may show an equivalent localized price in other storefronts, and the price displayed at purchase controls.
What Mason does not do
- Mason does not sell your personal information.
- Mason does not use advertising networks.
- Mason does not track you across apps or websites.
- Mason does not share your data for third-party advertising.
Your choices
You can delete recipes, cookbooks, and grocery-list data in Mason. You can also leave or end a Family sharing group from Settings. Because iCloud data is tied to your Apple Account, uninstalling Mason may not remove data already stored in iCloud.

Using Mason
Mason helps you organize recipes and grocery lists. You are responsible for the webpages, photos, recipes, and other material you choose to import or share, including having any rights needed to use that material.
Recipe accuracy and food safety
Imported recipes, ingredient substitutions, serving adjustments, and other generated results may be incomplete or incorrect. Check ingredients, quantities, allergens, cooking temperatures, and food-safety guidance before relying on them.
Mason Pro
Mason offers an optional $7.99 USD one-time Mason Pro purchase through Apple. Apple may show an equivalent localized price in other storefronts, and the price and availability displayed at purchase control. Apple handles billing, family purchase sharing, and refund requests under its terms.
Family sharing
Mason Family sharing lets invited people edit a shared recipe collection and grocery lists. Changes and deletions can affect everyone in the group. Only invite people you trust, and ask the group before deleting shared content.
Availability
Mason is provided as available and may change over time. We work to keep the app reliable, but do not promise uninterrupted access or that every webpage, photo, or feature will work in every situation.
Your content
You keep your rights to the recipes, photos, and other content you add. These terms do not give Mason ownership of your content.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Mason changes. The latest version and its effective date will remain available on this page.
